In 2014 I finished my Bachelor and Master degrees in General Biology and graduated from the University of Granada. After that I started to study for my Masters in Biodiversity Conservation, which I finished in July 2015.

During my studies, the theme that aroused in me a huge interest was Conservation Biology. I discovered that my passion is to research earth’s climate change. I wanted to work to understand the Earth’s complex environmental systems and the impact of human activities.

Thanks to Mentors I have the opportunity of participate in a research project and obtain an excellent international training, learning from top professionals at Desert Research Institute in Reno. I want to dedicate fully myself to research in the future, so this is the best start I could ever imagine.

The generosity of Mentors has allowed that I can obtain an academic training as a researcher, providing me also the possibility of being self-sustained and independent person. Mentors is allowing me to focus all my efforts to meet my goal, which is to learn as much as possible. This is not an individual help because Mentors, through funding of scientific researchers, is causing a benefit to the whole society.

I´m working very hard and doing my best every day in order to achieve the maximum performance during my stay. I´m so glad to collaborate producing a scientific knowledge which will provide a better understanding of ecosystem functioning in semi-arid zones.

About 35% of Earth’s land surface, or 5.2 billion hectares, is desert and semiarid ecosystems and are rapidly expanding as a result of desertification. Therefore, it is important to know how these ecosystems work, how they are affected by the climate change and what will be their response in the future.

I´m growing every day in personal and professional aspect.  I would love to have the opportunity to pass on my experience to others. I could help and guide them through the steps they must perform to achieve their goals. Thanks to this transmission, young people around the world will have the opportunity to know the work of this foundation and hopefully be part of it.
