Haley Ringenberg

I am currently a Junior at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln where I am working towards my Bachelor’s degree in Textile, Merchandising, and Fashion Design. This past year I had an incredible opportunity through the Mentors as an intern working with an ethical fashion company called Sapahn. Sapahn is a emphasizes the importance of human rights and fair trade.
Throughout my time being with Sapahn I have learned far more valuable lessons than I could have ever imagined. This company, along with the people I was mentored by, inspired me to work harder, dig deeper and dream bigger. Over the past year I was challenged and motivated by Brooke Mullen, the founder of Sapahn.
I realized that I needed this push and motivation to finally realize my full potential. This company has given me so much and it is my goal to give that much back to another individual someday.
When I look at my internship, I can’t help but cry a few happy tears. I would be nowhere close to where I am now if it wasn’t for this experience. My first huge opportunity with Sapahn was in February of 2018. I was honored and excited to take on New York Now and represent this company there.

The year completely flew by and I was given another opportunity. After saying yes to taking on a show in Dallas, TX completely by myself I realized the hard work, dedication, and energy that it takes to be successful. I was shown how challenging it can be to run a business alone, but I also saw how rewarding it is and at the end of the day that’s the most important thing to me.
I am grateful that I was chosen to receive this opportunity. I have grown in so many aspects of my life and I can’t wait to see what the future has in store for me. My ultimate goal is to have my own clothing line and also be a fashion influencer. The thought of fear doesn’t really cross my mind anymore just because I gained so much confidence in myself through this internship.
